How I Can Help

TELEHEALTH

Appointments

This practice specialises in Telehealth Psychology and provides effective support to people located in countries around the world, from the comfort of their own home or office.

Research has confirmed the effectiveness of telehealth therapy for helping clients create more fulfilling lives, and make the changes they’re looking for.

Many clients prefer the convenience and privacy of Telehealth sessions. There are manyadvantages of Telehealth, including increased access to effective and convenient therapy.

Clients are able to more fully relax in the comfort and security of their home environment, without the travel time and inconvenience.

What to expect

Telehealth appointments are just the same as in-person appointments, with the only difference being you are talking to each other from the ease and safety of your own space, on your phone or laptop instead of being in the same room.

Telehealth therapy is not appropriate for all clients, and in order to deliver best practice services, we have strict service criteria and eligibility requirements.

For example, Telehealth therapy is not appropriate for people who need urgent care, are in a mental health crisis, and/or need a higher level of care than we provide – such as those who are suicidal, have acute or severe mental health issues, and/or are medically compromised.

If you do not meet our service criteria, please meet with your GP as soon as possible to discuss alternative treatment options

General information

HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
HOW SOON CAN I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT?

I have prepared a screening tool that all prospective clients fill out.

Once you fill out the completed intake form, I will contact you if I have availability in my schedule at this point in time.

Please note that submitting an intake form is not an automatic appointment.

To ensure the best service, due to demand and caseload I am not able to take on new clients at all times. Client caseload management has become a challenge for many psychologists in private practice and it is professionally responsible to be realistic about service provision.

I have deliberately kept my Practice small and unique and I do not maintain a waitlist. To avoid long waiting periods I regularly assess my current capacity within my schedule, as well as the individual needs of potential clients, in order to commit to providing the best service and to manage the needs of new and existing clients.

FEES AND REBATES

I know it can be hard to afford counselling when you are going through a tough time so I have tried to price this practice as affordably as possible compared to other Psychology practices and the recommended fee for Psychologists ($300 – Australian Psychological Society).

My standard fee for each session is $190. Medicare and Private Health Rebates are available, please check your individual circumstances and policies.

The fees are structured in such a way that with Medicare rebates, usually out of pocket fees will be approximately $100, which is equivalent or less than many unqualified and unregistered health services.

Full fees per session are payable up front before rebates can be processed. You may be entitled to a rebate from Medicare of around $90, with the appropriate referral from a GP or Psychiatrist under a Mental Health Care Plan.

Alternatively, private health insurance may offer significant rebates depending on your particular circumstances, policy and level of cover. It’s always best to check the level and conditions of the rebate you’re eligible to receive beforehand.

Payment is required at the time of each session. Accepted forms of payment are credit cards, and payment to telehealth sessions is securely processed online.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We understand that unexpected events happen in life, and cancellations may sometimes be necessary.

Similar to most professional services there is a cancellation policy that helps ensure the best service to clients and reflects the hour that has been reserved for your session.

We ask that wherever possible you give at least a weeks’ notice if you need to reschedule.

Cancellations without 48 hours’ notice will incur 100% of the full standard session fee. This is due to the extensive difficulties that can arise to reallocate appointment times. As you can appreciate, cancelled appointments mean that other clients will have missed the opportunity to attend at that appointment time.

This Psychology practice is not an emergency or crisis management service.
